RESULTS OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF FACIAL SEBACEOUS CYSTS BY THE SPARING METHOD OF CYSTOSTOMY

The article presents the results of surgical treatment of sebaceou in 123 patients. A complex analysis of clinical and laboratory (LDF) investigations have shown that the surgical treatment of sebaceous cysts by the sparing method of cystotomy signifi cantly reduces injuries of tissues and violations of microhaemodynamics and effectively improves the esthetic characteristics of the postoperative scar.

THE STATE OF GENERAL AND LOCAL IMMUNITY IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC ODONTOGENIC SINUSITIS

We have examined 60 patients with chronic purulent odontogenic maxillary sinusitis. Before the treatment, the levels of cytokines in the blood serum were signifi cantly lower than the norm values, which could be the cause of disturbance in the local protective reactions. In lavages from sinuses, the opposite tendency was observed. The levels of the general antibodies of classes A, M, G in the blood serum showed absence of general disgamoglobulinemia according to the initial data. The local Ig of class A (general and secretory) before the beginning of treatment showed its hyperproduction in lavages from maxillary sinusis, we regarded that as a compensatory and adaptive reaction of the mucous membrane to the long-existing antigenic stimulus.

The authors have analyzed the anatomical changes of the cardiovascular system under experimentally caused adjuvant arthritis on 12 white breed “Wistar” rats. Anatomical studies of the animals’ myocardium with experimentally caused adjuvant arthritis have been performed to establish dystrophic and destructive processes in the myocardium, which is indicative of the metabolic correction necessity.

The article presents data of a case-control study of 33 children and adolescents with congenital heart defects and 39 healthy children and adolescents. Our work shows the signifi cance of graduated exercise in detecting early signs of CVS inadaptability. We have established early pathological signs of hemodynamics, RV morphometry, ЕСМ ring movement as systolic function of RV in children with congenital cardiovascular malformation.

Objective: development of a new diagnostic technique. Methods: MRI with extensor tests. Results: the extension lumbar MRI signifi cantly (by 53.5%) increases the probability of detection of pathologic vertebral mobility (spine instability), spinal dural sac compression and liquor-dynamic disorders. Conclusion: the technique proposed contributes to medical examination and management planning (conservative or surgical).

This pilot study was aimed at the development of a practical and effective outpatient method of correcting spinal scoliosis deformations of the fi rst and second degrees on a basis of plastic massage using compression reposition. Rehabilitation was carried out for nine patients aged 16-29 years, with thoracocervical, thoracic and thoracolumbar scoliosis of the fi rst and second degrees. The rehabilitation complex included 3 phases: the preparatory phase, the reposition of asymmetry compression, and the fi xating phase. The positive result of the treatment based on the new rehabilitation complex was 66.7%.

THE INFLUENCE OF THE ENVIRONMENT QUALITY ON THE HEALTH OF POPULATION IN CRIMEA

Based on the results of our investigation, we have established that there is a signifi cant infl uence of anthropogenic environmental pollution on many health indices in Crimea. These indices should be used at the regional ecological and medical institutions for monitoring the environment quality in Crimea. The highest levels of environmentally dependent diseases are observed in the Simferopol, Kerch, Yalta, Armyansk, Krasnoperekopsk, Bakhchisaray, Dzankoi, and Saki regions. The data obtained give a strong evidence of the need for nature-protection measures in Crimea.

The economic effi ciency of using the computer program TestMaker for the testing students’ knowledge is compared to that of the traditional method of testing. The study results show that the average reduction of expenses due to the use of the program TestMaker is 23.95%. This program allows saving of up to 28.57% of the teacher’s working hours spent for making the booklets and verifying the test answers.

The article describes personal observation of family arrhythmogenic dysplasia of the right ventricle of the heart in a girl who has been under observation for 12 years. Lifethreatening ventricular tachycardia was a clinical manifestation of pathology requiring a cardioverter-defi brillator. Ventricular tachycardia was diagnosed in the girl’s mother too. The article describes a rare pathology in a child: the long QT syndrome.

HEMIC HYPOXIA EFFECT ON NEWBORN RATS MYOCARDIUM

The aim of the research was studying the neonatal rat myocardium structure in terms of chronic hemic hypoxia. In the experiment, we used 15 white three-month female Wistar rats that were daily intraperitoneally administered with sodium nitrite at a dose of 50 mg/1 kg body weight throughout the pregnancy and for three days after giving birth to pups. The myocardium was taken from the pups that were fed by the rats described above and reached three-day age. Preparation of the material for electron microscopy studies was performed according to the standard methods. To determine the permeability of cell membranes we used solution of La20H3 (lanthanum hydroxide). The content of malondialdehyde (MDA) was determined by the method suggested by M. Mihara. The cytochemical research included identifi cation of the succinate dehydrogenase enzyme (SDH) by Nartsissov quantitative method. It has been established that changes in the ultrastructural organization of cardiomyocytes and endothelial cells of the myocardium capillaries of newborn rats with chronic hemic hypoxia are accompanied by strong mitochondrial dysfunction that is structurally expressed in the outer membrane damage and lysis of mitochondria crists confi rmed by increased levels of MDA in serum and decreased activity of SDH in lymphocytes. The most pronounced damage occurs in the mitochondrial membranes accompanied by destructive structural vascular changes and focal lysis of myofi brils. Thus, hemic hypoxia of the mother has a strong toxic effect on the myocardium of the newborn.
